CARYONAH has several thousand acres of the finest hunting territory available. You may reach it with ease from the North or South via Hwy 127 or the East and West by I-40 (Exit 311) or Hwy 70. Crossville’s modern 5,400 foot paved airport with 24-hour flight service is ideally suited to even large chartered groups of hunters. We will be happy to arrange transportation to and from the Crossville airport, for our airborne groups. For commercial flights you may choose either the Nashville (BNA) or the Knoxville (TYS) airports which are only about a hour and a half hour drive from us.

After purchasing our pine-covered property in 1991, we wanted to manage the wildlife and be able to hunt on our own land. Every year we culled out the inferior deer, always aiming for a 2-to-1 buck-to-doe ratio. We emphasized improving the browse, planting food plots, and providing supplemental feed. After years of culling, the deer were not getting much bigger. We realized the missing ingredient was the inability to prevent our bucks from being killed by other hunters in the area. With 2,350 acres of pine plantation, mixed hardwood drains and creek bottoms, we made the decision to erect eleven miles of high fencing around the plantation. Obviously, we'd been managing the deer well; we just needed the fence. By protecting the deer, we had big bucks in two years and now, we can manage the deer to their greatest potential. Tatum Plantation has consistently produced huge whitetail bucks with only existing native genetics; no breeding or shooting pens, no trucked-in deer, no introduction of out-of-state deer.

The Buck and Boar is located in beautiful Calhoune county S.C. The property that makes up the Buck and Boar has been managed exclusively for trophy deer / wild boar over the last 20 years. Our commitment to produce the highest quality Whitetail Deer hunting and European Wild Boar hunting possible led to the erection of five miles of game proof fence to enclose the entire property. Herd population, buck to doe ratio, and predators are more controllable. The cost of European strains needed to continue the progress of our trophy boar management can now be justified. Our herds are producing trophy boar and trophy bucks that far exceed our original expectations.
